Danielle Degnen

This is Danielle’s first year working at the Putnam Dance Centre and she is very excited to be working with all our talented dancers. Danielle grew up dancing at Boucher School of Dance in Oxford, MA.  While at Boucher’s she had many wonderful opportunities to perform in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Carnival Cruise line and Royal Caribbean Cruise line. She also competed in multiple dance competitions, winning numerous awards, including the title of Senor Miss Dance Ovations.  Danielle started her freshman year of college at Hofstra University, where she studied dance in both ballet and modern. She also performed in the student run group called Dance Works. Danielle then transferred to the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, where she made the highly competitive UMASS Dance Team. Danielle greatly enjoyed her time on the dance team, performing for all home football and basketball games. The UMASS Dance Team competes yearly in the NDA competition in Daytona Beach Florida, where in 2009, the team won 2nd place in the Division 1 category, a record for UMASS. That same year, the team also won first place in the Division 1 category at the Boston University Regional NDA competition. Danielle was also given the opportunity to perform as a backup dancer for Giddens W. Rateau, who was the opening act for a Sam Adams concert at the UMass Mullen’s Center. Danielle is currently the Dance Director at the Artworks Summer Camp in Groton Massachusetts MA, where she teaches beginning styles of dance for children of ages three to fifteen. She also choreographs for all musical theater performances at the Artworks camp. Danielle is thrilled to start teaching at the Putnam Dance Centre and is looking forward to sharing her knowledge and love of dance with the students.
